John Lee Katz, age 67, formerly of Wichita, Kansas, died October 2, 2013, at his home in Shell Knob, Missouri.

He was born September 22, 1946, in Dodge City, Kansas, the son of Clarence and Mary Katz. On June 21, 1967, he married Roxy Fitzgerald, who survives. He is also survived by his children, Kami (Scott) Sjoberg, Jaci (Mike Watkins) Katz; grandkids, Anthony John Watkins, David John and John Richard Sjoberg; siblings, Jolene Katz, Stanley Katz and Traci Brown.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mary Katz and a brother, Jerry Katz.

He retired as an insurance broker at John Katz and Associates to travel with his motorhome and enjoy life at Table Rock Lake. He loved golfing, motorcycles, remote control airplanes, restoring his classic '62 Corvette and his family. "Not enough hours in the day." Mr. MacGyver could fix anything. He never met a stranger and truly lived life to the fullest.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Resthaven Mortuary, Wichita, Kansas.
