Frankie J. Hunt Sr., age 66, died Thursday, April 1, 1999 at his home in Saltville. Mr. Hunt was a very loving father, husband and friend. He was known throughout Washington and Smyth counties for his skills as a master craftsman in the art of woodworking. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and attended Madam Russell United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Billie Jeanette Hunt; two sons and daughters-in-law, Frankie J. Hunt Jr. and Becky Hunt, Bristol, and Robert Alan Hunt and Amy M. Hunt, Marion; one stepson, Jonathan Rawn, Columbus, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Beverly Rawn, Chattanooga, Tenn.; two brothers, Curtis Hunt, Saltville, and Dewey Hunt, North Carolina; four sisters, Lizzie Wyatt, Glade Spring, Dora Pruitt, Mendota, Claudia McMahan, Chilhowie, and Katie Smith, Saltville; two grandsons, Caleb Hunt and David Hunt; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted today, April 3, at 11 a.m. at the D. R. Henderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Hudson, the Rev. Jim Wright, the Rev. Scott A. Robertson-Gouge and the Rev. Chuck Herrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Rose Cemetery. D.R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville is in charge of arrangements.
