Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all, William R. Eckert passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2002 after a long fought battle with cancer. Born December 17, 1938, Bill lived a full life as a man of infinite kindness, compassion, strength, love and wisdom. Always giving and caring, patient and witty, charming and proper, Bill spent his life devoted to his wife and family. Your smiling face, perpetual optimism and warm heart will be deeply missed. Our eternal gratitude for touching our lives. Mr. Eckert was preceded in death by his parents, Ewald E. and Catherine Eckert. Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Lenoir A. Eckert; daughter, Laurie A. Holmes and husband Mark; son, David C. Eckert; grandchildren, Kristen M. Holmes and Sean M. Holmes; brother, Charles Eckert and wife Margie; numerous nieces and nephews; a host of family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the Eckert family suggests that contributions be made to Vitas Innovative Hospice Care or the charity of your choice. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2002 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at Mission Park North with Rev. Janet Fluth officiating. Interment to follow at Mission Burial Park North.
