In the 1930 census, Carl and his family were living in Blasdell, Erie County, New York. He was listed as Carl H. Culler, working as a Roller for a steel mill, age 28 born in Pennsylvania, his wife, Helen M. age 21, born in Pennsylvania, and their son, Carl W. age 4 born in Pennsylvania.

Carl Harsell Culler, 59, former Weirton resident, died Monday of a heart attack at his home, 335 NW 14th Avenue, Miami, Florida. A former employee in the Strip Steel Department of the Weirton Steel Company, Mr. Culler had resided in Weirton since 1942, moving to Cleveland. He took up residence in Miami in 1954. He was born June 19, 1903 in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Harsell S. and Lottie (Stickel) Culler.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Cora Culler, at home, one son, Tech Sgt. Carl William Culler, stationed at San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. John (Carolyn) Hughes, of Weirton; one brother, Fred Culler, of Alexandria, Virginia; and five grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Schwerha Mortuary after 8 p.m. Friday where services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. Rev. D. C. Marshall of Washington, Pennsylvania will officiate followed by burial in the Paris Cemetery.
