HUBBARD, FLORA BELL, known as Ma-Maw to all her grandchildren, age 83, of Bessemer, Alabama, went to be with the Lord in His Heavenly home, Sunday, December 3, 2006 after a brave battle with Alzheimer's. She was born September 16, 1923 Adger, Alabama, a daughter of the late Rex Pitts and Mattie Johnson Pitts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Hubbard, Sr.; three sisters, Mary Gilbert, Bernice Oddo, and Minnie Towers; two brothers, William Pitts and Norman Rex "Bug" Pitts; one son, Charles, Louis Hubbard; one daughter, Betty Jean Hubbard; one grandson, Robert Louis "Bobby" Hubbard; and two granddaughters, Ginger Frederick and Heather Lee Ann Hubbard. She was a homemaker who loved to sew, can, decorate and especially loved Christmas time. She was well known for her enormous Christmas decorations and other holiday decorations. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister and friend. Those left love and always remember her are four daughters, Nell Francis Weaver (Rev. Charley) of Bessemer, Lula Bell Hardin (Ronald) of West Blocton, Edna Hubbard of Bessemer, and Christine Frederick (Ronny) of Concord; two sons, Marshall Pitts, Sr. of Bessemer and Robert W. Hubbard, Jr. (Pam) of Virginia Mines; two sisters, Eunice Kizziah (Pete) of Bessemer and Margaret Towers of Bessemer; one brother, Robert A. Pitts (Kathlene) of Bishop, TX; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 7, 2006 at Brown Service Bessemer with Bro. Kevin Blackwell and Brother Stan Huguley officiating. Burial will follow at Mud Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Weaver, "Bobo" Marshall Pitts, Jr., "Robby" Robert W. Hubbard, III, Chris Nehring, Gary Tyler and Chad Mitchell. Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home directing.
