AGED WOMAN DIES AT HOME OF DAUGHTER

Sunday at 1:30 p.m. the funeral of Mrs. Charlotte M. Hempstead was held from Knapp's chapel, Rev. C. R. G. Poole officiating.

Mrs. Hempstead was ill about six weeks with neuralgia of the heart and due to her advanced age finally succumbed. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. L. Adee on Vancouver Heights about midnight Friday night.

She is survived by a son, O. D. Westcott; one daughter, Mrs. A. L. Adee, and a sister in Kalamazoo, Mich. She is a widow of a soldier who was killed in the Civil war and has since then lived in Kalamazoo with her sister until five years ago when she came to live with her daughter. Adee's residence located in the Vancouver Heights, of pleurisy, attended by Dr. J. T. Gurin of Vancouver. Funeral June 12, 1912 at Knapp Chapel with Rev. C. R. G. Poole. Buried Vancouver City Cemeter, #NE64-1, Line 16 (no marker).

Charlotte's parents were John Fry and Anna Rodenbaugh. Her first husband was James Westcott with whom she had two children; he died during the Civil War. She then married Alfred Poe and had two more children. After Alfred's death, she married Benjamin Heampstead. He died about 1904.
