Mr. Charles L. Adams, 76, died Wednesday (April 29, 2009) at Bacon County Hospital in Alma, GA, after a brief illness.

He was a native of Coffee County and resided in Douglas before moving to Waycross in 1965. He was the son of the late Charlie and Beadie Adams.

He had worked for the Coffee County Progress in Douglas before moving to Waycross. He retired from the Waycross Journal Herald after 43 years of service and was formerly the Assistant Production Manager before transferring to the News Room. He had served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Winona Park United Methodist Church, The Winona Park Men's Bible Class, Ware County Farm Bureau, Georgia Press Association and a former member of the Ware County Exchange Club.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday (May 1, 2009) at Winona Park United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Music Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations may be made to Winona Park United Methodist Church, 900 N. Augusta Ave., Waycross, GA 31501.
