Mrs. Albert McCauley, 58, Died Monday At A Hospital In Aurora Ill.; Burial Here.
Mrs. Albert McCauley, 58 years old and who taught school in Knox County as Miss Grace Pettit before tier marriage, died Monday evening, March 17, 1958, at a hospital in Aurora, Ill. She had been seriously ill since Dec. 13, 1957, although she had not been entirely well the last few years.
The body was brought to Edina, her old home, to the Kriegshauser Funeral Home and the Rosary was recited there at 8 o'clockyesterday evening. Funeral services were at 10 o'clock this morning at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, conducted by the Rev. Terence Mullins, pastor. Burial was in the New Catholic Cemetery beside the grave of her husband, the late Mr. McCauley, who died Dec. 29, 1955, at the age of 54 years.
A sister, Margaret, Mrs. John Clausen of Rockford, Ill., and a brother, Bert Pettit of Eldon, Mo., survive.
Mrs. McCauley was born Nov. 21, 1899, at Kenawee, Ill., one of the five children of William Joseph and Elizabeth Lawless Pettit. With her parents she came to a farm northeast of Edina in 1909. She was a graduate of St. Joseph and the Edina High Schools and attended the Teachers College at Kirksville. She taught school for a number of years in the Crim, Clancy and Glendale districts, and as Miss Grace Marie Pettit she was married to Mr. McCauley Feb. 6, 1933.
A brother, William Pettit, preceded Mrs. McCauley in death in 1913; her father, William J. Pettit, 72 years old, Nov. 22, 1930; her mother, 84, May 10, 1950, and a sister, Teresa, Mrs. Louis Millmeyer, Dec. 1, 1956.
