She spent her early childhood days in the Yakima Valley. In 1962 the Martinez Family moved to Moses Lake, WA, where she received her education. Later in life Rachel was blessed with three children, Sylvia, Fernando and Lori. The later years brought Rachel to Kennewick and finally to Grandview to be near her family. In November of 2010 we where informed that our beautiful Rachel was diagnosed with one of the very most aggressive types of cancer, but Rachel fought courageously until the end.
Rachel is survived by one son, Fernando Martinez (LeighAnn) of Pasco, WA, two daughters, Sylvia Gomez of Kennewick, WA and Lori Aguilar (Gilbert) of Oceanside, CA and five grandchildren, Jazmin, Isaac, Kayla, Shayla and Jose. She is also survived by her mother Eleanor M. Martinez of Grandview, WA, siblings, David Martinez (Diane); Alice Alexander (Alex); Elizabeth Hernandez (Danny); Rosie Brown (Jeff); Rosilie Cordova; Josie Molina; Jimmy Molina; Teresa Perez (Toby); Frances Vacaneri (Ernest) and Frank "Pooh Bear" (Frances) Vacaneri.
She is preceded in death by her father Cecil, brothers, Danny and Zeke and one sister Yolanda.
Rest in Peace our Beloved Rachel. A Memorial Service will be held at the Riverview Baptist Church, Pasco, WA 99301.
