SAUK CITY/ROXBURY - Genevieve M. Theisen, age 91, died on Tuesday, January 7, 1997 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City. She was born in Roxbury on April 2, 1905, the daughter of the late Valentine and Mary Anna (Werla) Ballweg. She was united in marriage to Wilfred Theisen on June 28, 1927. The couple farmed in Roxbury until moving to Sauk City in 1946. Mr. Theisen preceded her in death in 1950. Mrs. Theisen was employed as a baker at St. Mary's Hospital for many years and was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women.

She is survived by five children, Marcella "Sally" (Eugene) Gulp of Madison, Ann (Dean) Bartholomew of Lodi, Shirley (Raymond) Reutter of Findlay, Ohio, Linda Lou Caflisch of Sauk City and Jim (Millie) Theisen of Baraboo; three sisters, Amanda Speth of Madison, Mary Ballweg of Prairie du Sac and Helen Roth of Roxbury; a son-in-law, Romain (Jeanette) Kessenich of Waunakee; three sisters-in-law, Frances Ballweg of Roxbury, Ruth Theisen of Sauk City and Agnes Breunig of Roxbury; special friends, Kathie Fritz, Donna Schmitz, Roxanne Grinde and Barb Ballweg; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; and many nieces ana nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: two daughters, Elizabeth Theisen in 1935 and Arlene Kessenich in 1984; two grandchildren, Ronald and Donald Kessenich.

Burial will follow in St. Norbert's Cemetery, Roxbury on Friday, January 10, 1997.
