Matthew C. Koehler, 74, Topeka, died Monday, April 8, 1991, at a Topeka hospital. Mr. Koehler worked in the purchasing and material department at Santa Fe Railway 36 years before he retired in 1977. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in Company A in the 82nd Armored Medical Battalion in Europe. He participated in the campaigns for the Rhineland and Central Europe. He was born July 20, 1916, in Tecumseh, the son of Frank Gibson and Mary Anderson Koehler. His wife, Mrs. Ferne Lucille Edds Koehler, survives. A daughter, Sharon Ann Rabe, died March 24, 1990. Other survivors include a son Ronald Lee Koehler, San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Cecilia Marsolais, Rossville; three granddaughters; and a great-grandson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Newcomer-Diffenderfer Funeral Home. Philip-Billard Veterans of foreign Wars Post No. 1650 will conduct graveside services at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Koehler will lie in state after 8 a.m. today at the funeral home where relatives and friends will meet from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Contributions may be made to the Matthew C.
