BALDWYN – Francis "Speed" Adams, 87, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Countrywood Plantation in Mantachie after an extended illness. She was a retired sales clerk for M. Gorden's Dry Goods Store in Baldwyn for more than 30 years. She has been a member of the First Christian Church of Baldwyn since 1953.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at the First Christian Church of Baldwyn with Bro. Kelly Carmichael officiating. Burial will be in Prentiss Memorial Gardens. Waters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include one son, William K. Lauderdale (Doris) of Leawood, Kan.; two sisters, Letha Orff of Booneville and Betty White of Olive Branch; two grandaughters, Christina Lauderdale (David) and Dr Stacy Lauderdale (Patrick); one great-grandchild, Nathan McNeil.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Lauderdale and Robert Adams; three brothers, J.W. Michaels, David Michaels and Jim Michaels; and three sisters, Elsie Surratt, Claudean Eaton and Julie Nicholas.

Pallbearers are Bob Orff, Thomas Pratt, Alton Wood, Thomas Hassell, John Mabry and Lanny Russell.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Baldwyn, MS 38824.
