A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano for Lena Alario Blanchard, 86, a native of Golden Meadow, former resident of Grand Isle and resident of Galliano, who died at 1:14 p.m. Jan. 28, 2001.
Visitation will be from 5 until 10 p.m. today at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano and 9 a.m. until funeral time at the church.
Burial will be at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Golden Meadow.
She was the mother of Philip Blanchard, Audrey Blanchard Guidry and Elaine Blanchard Mora; and sister of Meredith McQuaid. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. "Jean" Blanchard; parents, Thomas A. Louisiana Esponge Alario; and brothers, Thomas Jr. and Antoine Alario.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Isle Church in Grand Isle. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society.
