only son of Joseph and Maria Flory to be born in America

He was baptized at the Conestoga Church of the Brethern about 1756. The 1758 Lancaster County tax lists show him as a freeman with the pioneer Flory Family. Lived in Somerset County (Myersdale) PA, also known as Brothers' Valley, which is where he is supposed to have married Catherine Blocher in 1759. He lived there until 1805 before moving to Montgomery County, Ohio, following his sons Joseph, Emanuel & Henry. They settled just west of Trotwood. He was a minister in the German Baptist Brethern Church in Montgomery County, OH in 1810.
