This monument is erected to preserve her memory by her husband Roger Sprague. She was born in Stockbridge, Massachusetts July 5, 1778 and died here in Michigan August 29, 1827. If an affectionate attachment to her husband, if a material love to her children that nothing could assuage: if a kind and benevolent regard to her kindred and acquaintance, interesting her in their welfare, could render her esteemable in the minds of her friends. She was estimable and beloved by them: and her death is mourned by them.
