Marjorie Abernathy, 66, of Columbia died Saturday, April 30, 1994, at her
home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, in Memorial Funeral Home Chapel
with the Rev. Eugene Robl officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park
Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 2, at Memorial
Funeral Home.
Mrs. Abernathy was born Aug. 6, 1927, in Rock Hill to Theodore and Bertha
Spindler Brueckner. On May 7, 1949, she married Kenneth ``Doc'' Abernathy in
Crystal City, and he survives in Columbia. Mrs. Abernathy worked at the
University Hospital and Clinics and belonged to the Central Missouri Rock and
Lapidary Association.
Surviving along with her husband are her mother, Bertha Brueckner of Columbia;
two sons, Paul and James Abernathy, both of Columbia; two daughters, Theresa
Kimmel of Fort Worth, Texas, and Pamela Abernathy of Columbia; five
grandchildren and numerous cousins.
