LOGAN, W.Va. — Garnet Pauley Lilly, 84, of Logan, went home to be with the Lord Wed., Oct. 23, 2013 at the Putnam Center in Hurricane.
Born June 27, 1929, at Limestone, she was a daughter of the late Elijah and Lena Roxie Vannatter Pauley. Also preceding her in death were her husbands, Lowell Maynard, Neil Ford and Robert Lilly; sisters, Edaniah Adkins, Esther Loo, and Nettie, and brothers, Iverson, Eli, Hubert, Timothy, James and Thomas Pauley.
Garnet was a member of the First Christian Church of Logan. She retired from McCormick's Dept. store in Logan and was a member of the hospital auxiliary at Logan Regional Medical Center for many years. She was also a member of the Logan Chapter No. 60 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son and daughter-in-law, James T. and Frances Mathis Ford of Hurricane; grandson, James T. Ford Jr.; great-grandson, Hunter Ford of Ashburn, Va.; two sisters, Bonnie Vannater of Big Ugly and Yvonne (Carmen) Herrala of Oregon; a special sister-in-law, Abby Pauley of Ohio; she was "Aunt Garnet" to several nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends. Her smiling face will be missed by all who knew her.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sun., Oct. 27, at James Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
