Higgins, Ernest A. "Ernie"

Of Belleview, Florida and formerly of Horseheads, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at home after a prolonged illness with his family by his side. Ernie was born on August 21, 1935 in Alpine Junction, NY, a son of the late Ace and Emma (Wilson) Higgins. He is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine (Geri) to whom he was married for almost 60 years.
As God and The Cycle of Life would have it Mr. Higgins passed at the same time as his 15th great-grandchild was being born. Mr. Higgins, known as "Ernie" to his friends, made many friends and acquaintances over the years working as a salesman in the automobile parts industry. Ernie had a firm belief in Jesus Christ and was comforted in knowing he was going home to be with the Lord. Family and friends are invited to call at Barber Funeral Home, 413 So. Main St., Horseheads, on Friday, October 25, 2013 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. Ernie's Funeral Service will follow visitation at 1:00 pm. Graveside services will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Higgins' desire was for contributions to be made to Anchor Baptist Church, 614 E. Jefferson St., Brooksville, FL 34605.
