Sue lived her entire live in the South Bend area. She was the daughter of Hal Clarence COLEMAN and Margaret velyn BUELL. She attended Nuner Elementary School and graduated from Edwardsburg High School before studying at Ivy Tech College.
For many years , she worked at Williams Paint Company and was a manager with the Penny Saver, working with advertising art. Sue volunteered for over 20 years with West Washington and Colfax Revitalization Project with South Bend mayors Joseph Kernan and Steve Luecke. She was actively involved at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in women's ministry and as a certified lay speaker for the Stephen's Ministry. Sue enjoyed painting and donated much of her artwork to Home Management Resources, Healthwin Hospital, and Indiana University.
Sue was preceded in death by her father, Hal Coleman; mother and step-father, Margaret and Chester Schultz; and two brothers, Roger Coleman and Jim Coleman.
She was survived by her half-sister, Dixie Lee (Richards) FRIES (wife of Lester "Sam" Fries) of Mishawaka; half-brothers Jack E. (Donna) RICHARDS of South Bend and Jack Eugene (Sandy) COLEMAN of Mishawaka; and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and by three half-brothers: James Melvin GRAMENZ (born COLEMAN; used stepfather's surname); Roger Lloyd COLEMAN, and Hal Clarence "Jim" COLEMAN.
Funeral services were at Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawka Ave., South Bend, with the Rev. Gregory Fiechtner, pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial was at in Mission Hills Memorial Cemetery, Niles, Michigan.
