Daughter of Henry Seelemire and Hannah Winters, both born in Germany. Mother of Frank S. and Charles H. Deats, stepmother of Clarence and Vernon Ivers.

She married Joel C. Deats on Sept. 6, 1893 in Sarpy County, Nebraska. The couple had two sons, Frank and Charles. Joel C. Deats served in the military and was stationed at Fort Omaha, Nebraska. The marriage didn't last long and she and Joel were divorced by 1900.

When the census was taken for 1900, Rose (listed as Rosa Seelemire, age 38) was living with her parents Henry and Hannah Seelemire in Elkhorn, Douglas County, Nebraska with her two sons Frank (age 16) and Charles (age 14) and her younger brother William Seelemire (age 25). Her marital status was listed as divorced.

Ten years later, Rose had remarried John W. Ivers and was living in Morton, North Dakota, where John worked as a farmer. Rose's younger brother, Elmer A. Seelemire (age 31), wife Rosy and young daughter Louise Seelemire (age 3), were listed as neighbors on the census. The census states it was the second marriage for both Rose and John Ivers and that she was the mother of two children, one still living.

John W. Ivers, Rose's second husband, was born around 1863 in Iowa. He was the son of John W. Ivers and Rosina Whitcomb. The Omaha Area Marriages Index states John's first wife was Sada A. Clark, whom he married in April of 1892. [IVERS, John W.; 29; md. Sada A. CLARK; 22; Apr 1892]

John W. Ivers was listed on the 1900 census for Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska living with wife Sarah A. (born in Wisconsin around 1871) and their two sons Clarence (age 5), and Vernon (age 1) Ivers, both born in Nebraska.

In 1920, when the census was taken, Rose and John W. Ivers lived in Antelope, Grant County, North Dakota, where John worked as a farmer. John's sons, Clarence (age 25) and Vernon (age 20) Ivers were also living in the household.

At the time the 1940 census was taken, the widowed Rose (age 78) was living in Bismarck, Burleigh County, North Dakota with her step-son Vernon Ivers (age 40), his wife Gladys and their two young sons.

Vernon Eddy Ivers was born Sept. 30, 1899 in North Dakota and died August 17, 1981.
