FRIONA — Sarah Schlenker Dean, 98, of Friona died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Friona Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Mohr of Lubbock officiating. Arrangements are by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.
Mrs. Dean was born Oct. 11, 1915, in Curry County, N.M., to Floyd Theobald Schlenker and Malinda Reeve Schlenker. She married Elmo Dean on Sept. 9, 1933, in Clovis, N.M.
Survivors include three daughters, Gladys Spring of Bovina, Lindy Varner of Friona and Florence Sifford of Bella Vista, Ark., six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to Union Congregational Church, P.O. Box 805, Friona, TX 79035; or Bluebonnett Home Health and Hospice, 304 E. 11th St., Friona, TX 79035.
