Florence Lucille Ladd
Florence Lucille Ladd, 88, of Hillsboro, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009 at St. Catherine's Care Center in Washington C.H.
She was born in Highland County on Oct. 24, 1920, the daughter of the late Charles and Nettie (Haines) Collins.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Denson Ladd Sr., on May 4, 2008; four brothers, Wendell, Doyle, Harry and Wallace Collins; and one sister, Sarah Cannon.
She is survived by one son and daughter in-law, Jacob Denson and Gamma Ladd Jr. of Washington C.H.; and one daughter and son in-law, Betty and John Dodds of Hillsboro; three grandchildren, Mark (Lisa) Dodds of Amelia, Tim (Sharon) Dodds of Loveland and Chris (Michele) Dodds of Washington C.H.; and five great-grandchildren, Ashley, Ryan, Shelby, Brennan and Courtney.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14 at the Thompson Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the Highland County Society for Children and Adults, P.O. Box 258, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
