Charles Adam Norton was born Feb. 2, 1916, in Cavalier, N.D., the son of William and Margaret Norton. He attended school in Grafton, N.D. After playing professional hockey in Winnipeg, he served in the National Guard during World War II. He married Grace Marie Greskowiak April 26, 1943. He worked in Grafton as a lineman for Nodak, Rural Electric and later at Grand Forks Air Force Base. He moved to Minto in 1958 and retired in 1977.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Bob Mott, N.D., Bill Finley, N.D., and Brian, Denver; daughters, Peggy (Mrs. Walter) Whittle, Philadelphia; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Donna Jensen, Grafton; Marian Judd, Couer D'alene, Idaho, and Carol, Tacoma, Wash.
Services: 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Family Catholic Church, Grand Forks.
Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, with a 5 p.m. prayer service, in Amundson Funeral Home Grand Forks.
