Doris Bernadette Smith, 76, of Livermore died Wednesday at Veterans Administrative Hospital.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Killeen, Texas. She lived in Livermore from 1994 to 1996, and previously in Modesto from 1962 to 1994. She was a waitress at Sambo's Restaurant. She also was employed with S & W Cannery and John Ingles Frozen Foods. She was a member of Teamsters Local 748, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary of Modesto 1243 and the Druids 181. She belonged to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Hugh Bernard Smith Jr. of Livermore; children, Hugh B. Smith III of Yuba City and Doris B. Bailey of Modesto; a sister, Ollie Martin of Modesto; and four grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the chapel.
Remembrances may be made to the Community Hospice, 601 McHenry Ave., Suite C, Modesto 95350.
