The remains of Lewis C. Torrance,
whose death occurred recently at the family home in Pasadena, Calif., were brought to Gowanda Tuesday and the burial service was held in Pine Hill cemetery at 3:30 o'clock in the afternoon. Rev. Leslie F. Chard, rector of St. Mary's church, officiated.
Mr. Torrance was born in Gowanda in 1855 and was(sic) son of Judge Cyrenius C. and Mary Curtiss Torrance. His activities in southern California began in 1887, when he moved from Gowanda to Pasadena.
