Wanda Reid Simmons, 78, of Searcy, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013. She was born Aug. 21, 1935 in Beedeville, Ark., the daughter of Henry and Ida Mae Reid.
Wanda is survived by two sons and their wives, Reid and Cheryl Simmons and Eric and Joyce Simmons; four grandchildren, Rebecca, Christyn, Rachel and Cami, all of Searcy; a sister, Bonita Fields of Jonesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene Simmons; two brothers, Henry Reid, Jr. and Ray Reid; and two sisters, Jonita Darling and Allene Koettel.
The family offers a special thanks to White County Medical Center, 3 North and 2 North; Davita Dialysis Center; Dr. Johnson; and Summit Hospice.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. Graveside services will be at Sand Hill Cemetery in Auvergne, Ark., on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
