Ole and Maren reared seven children, Mabel, Olinda, Melvin, Arthur, Bennie, Alfred and Bernice. Maren lived a very productive and healthful life and is remembered by the writer as being an extremely warm, gentle and kind person as she lived her later years in Lake Mills, Iowa with daughter Bernice. Mary died on December 10, 1958 and is buried in the Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery near Vinge, Iowa, on ground she and her husband donated to the church.
