Suggested Edit: Arne M. Holstad, second son of Martin and Maria Holstad, was born on the family farm in western Worth County, Iowa, on August 22, 1876. He grew to manhood there in Bristol Township where he obtained his education in the Worth County rural school system.
In 1906, Arne married Selma Julseth of the Tenold area of Worth County, Iowa, and to them five children were born: two boys, Morris and James, and three girls, Alice, Lillian and Verona. Part of their married life was spent in Worth County with the rest in the Lake Mills area of Winnebago County, where Arne was living in retirement when he died on October 29, 1963.
The writer can remember his Uncle Arne still being very active even past his middle 80's and of mowing neighbors' lawns at times just for the exercise.
