Private Aimer was a member of Company D, 10th Engineer Combat Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on November 29, 1950. His remains were not recovered.

Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
