Gilbert Jones and Ida Blakely were married Jan. 13, 1903 at Lisbon, Ransom County, North Dakota. The came to Canada circa 1911 from Wisconsin, where Gilbert farmed, and they applied for homestead entry on NE-28-7-1W4, south of Medicine Hat, in 1913. Patent was granted on their farm in 1919, and by 1921 they were living in the Waverley District (now part of the County of Stettler).
