**Civil War Veteran**

Austin Herald, Thursday, November 9, 1905 page 2, column 4
Edward B. Glines died this morning at his home at 1002 Grove street of heart trouble. He was thought to be in his usual health but when his wife called him this morning he did not respond. She called again and receiving no answer went to his bedside and found him dead.
He was sixty-two years, two months old today. He was born in St. Lawrence county, New York, September 9, 1843. Here he grew to manhood. His mother died when he was eighteen year old. He came west settling in Freeborn county in 1860. His marriage to Maggie McCabe occurred October 13, 1889. He leaves beside a wife, one son Bennie, 15 years of age.
Those who knew the deceased speak in praise of him. He was a good husband, father and neighbor and though poor health had stood in his way of accomplishment he did what he could and made the best of circumstances which he could not alter.
The funeral will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock from the home of Mrs. Porter on Sixth street.
