Jessica Ursula Brown Davidson, 94 HOUSTON, Texas - Jessica Ursula Brown Davidson, PhD, died June 20, 2008, in Seven Acres in Houston, Texas. Born 1914 in New York, the daughter of the late Adelaide Clarke and Jay Brown. She graduated from Potsdam State College and the University of Delaware. She received a masters degree in music education from West Chester State College and a doctorate of secondary music education from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1978. Mrs. Davidson taught music in Adams Center New York, Milford Special District, New Castle County, University of Maryland, and became Director of Music Education and Area Music Program for the Council on Aging Inter-Disciplinary Center for Research in Gerontology at the University of Kentucky. She was the choir director and organist for Avenue United Methodist Church, Milford, Del., for 29 years and also a member of this church. Her late husband, Alexander C. Davidson, whom she married in 1936, preceded her in death in 1979. Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Lloyd and her husband Thomas of Winchester, Va., and Nancy Griffing and her husband James of Sugar Land, Texas; a sister, Donna Jeanne Tanney; four grandchildren, Thomas Sean Lloyd and his wife Amy Ulland of Round Hill, Va., David Drew Lloyd and his wife Lisa Harmon of White River Junction, Vt., Kelly Griffing McKnight and her husband Wade of Pearland, Texas, and Jessica Christine Griffing of Irving, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Emeline Elisabeth Lloyd and a future great-granddaughter. Burial will be in Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton, Del.
