On October 17, Theil L. Jenson took his last breath with his sweetheart Virginia asleep at his side. Born on March 15, 1923 to Eslie and Letha Jenson, Theil married Virginia Jessop on June 25, 1942. They had one daughter together. Theil is survived by his wife, daughter Tamera Fitting, granddaughter Cindy Yeates (Steven), grandson Darren Fitting (Theresa), great-grandchildren Alyson Brown (Brandon), Mallory Yeates, Riley Yeates, and Jaycson Yeates, his sister Colleen Cook, and his brothers Burdett, Thayne, and LaMoine. Theil is also survived by his nearly 30-year old horse Babe. The two of them made an adventurous pair.
Theil is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Gayle Taggart, Margene Hulse, and Ellen Jessop.
Called to serve in the US Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theater, Theil took great pride in his military service, continuing his association with the American Legion throughout his life. Serving his community was one of Theil's passions, which he fulfilled by acting as the Millville/Nibley Cemetery Sexton and a Millville City Councilman. Employed for many years by Logan Laundry and Utah State University, Theil made life-long friends wherever he could.
Theil enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing as well as working with his animals at his Millville farm. Theil loved his land and the creatures it supported, a love carried on by his great-granddaughter Alyson. Above all else, Theil's devotion to his family, friends and neighbors stands out. He spent many years chasing grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was "Uncle" or "Grandpa" to many, blood relation or otherwise.
A memorial for Theil will be held at the Providence South Stake Center at 360 E 450 N in Millville on Monday, October 21. A viewing will take place from 10-11:30 followed by a funeral service at Noon. In lieu of flowers, please honor Theil's memory by making a donation to The National Military Family Association (www.militaryfamily.org).
