Ralph Lawrence Probstfeld 88, born on September 25, 1920 in Verona, MO, went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2009.

Ralph proudly served his country during WWII aboard the USS Portland earning commendations for his service in Guadalcanal, the Aleutian Campaign, and in Tarawa Atoll.

As a brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Ralph's spirit touched and enriched the lives of many. He will be greatly missed. As an accomplished carpenter, his efforts can be seen along the foothills of Southern CA, where he lived with Madge, his wife of 56 years until his move to Tucson in 2001.

Ralph is survived by his sister, Caroline McNerney of Mount Vernon, MO; his daughter, Carol Probstfeld Murphy of Tierra Verde, FL, and his son, Michael Probstfeld; daughter-in-law, Celia Cosico-Probstfeld; granddaughter, Kayla Cosico-Probstfeld and grandson, Zachary Cosico-Probstfeld of Tucson, AZ.

Services were held Monday, September 7, 2009, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Tucson, AZ.

Donations in Ralph's memory may be made to TMC Hospice at 5301 E. Grant Rd., Tucson, AZ 85712.

15 Apr 1948: Ralph and Madge were married at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1321 S. Mariposa Ave, Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California. This was Ralph's first marriage and Madge's second marriage.
