Margie was born March 17, 1932, at Fort Yates, to Richard and Margaret (Jordan) White Eagle. She attended Cannon Ball Elementary and boarding school in South Dakota. Margie met her husband, Eugene, while working for the BIA. Soon after, they relocated to California, where they raised their family. While there, Margie worked as a nurse in many hospitals. After Eugene's retirement, they returned to North Dakota. She then began her 14 years of service at the IHS Eye Clinic in Fort Yates. Later in life, Margie loved gardening, sewing, cooking, canning, attending rodeos, visiting her nephew Al, and sharing stories about the good ol' days.
She will be remembered as a hard-working woman by her daughter, Deborah Eagle, Cannon Ball; four sons, Richard, Cannon Ball, Thomas (Karen), Fort Yates, Eugene Jr., New Town, and Albert (Sarah), Georgia. She had eight grandchildren, three of whom she raised; Richie, Nevada, and Dakota (Jorge). She also had twelve great-grandchildren. Hunter was the newest addition to the family and always greeted his great-grandma with a smile.
Margie was the last surviving of her twelve brothers and sisters and was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Meredith; and son, Charles.
