Mrs. McCormick was born in Surry County on November 15, 1927, to William Green and Lola Betty Wood.
Earlier in life, she worked at Perry Manufacturing and later became a dedicated caregiver at Central Care. During her time at Surry Community Nursing & Rehab, she was not only a very active resident she was also considered “family”. She was dearly loved and she loved everyone there. She was the resident council president. She will be sorely missed.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCormick was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Alonzo McCormick; a daughter, Susan McCormick Nadeau; a sister, Lettie Eller; and brothers: Fred Wood, Grady Wood, and David Wood.
