Succumbs to Illness
Mrs. Emma Alice Cowell, 80,
widow of Reuben Cowell, died at
6:45 o'clock Monday, morning at
her residence on rural route 6,
city, after a lingering, illness.
Born Dec. 19, I860 in Carroll
county, she was the daughter of
Theodore and Caroline (Redwine)
Cassman. She was a member
of the Burnettsville Baptist
church.
Surviving are: two sons, James,
216 Grove street, city, and.Elmer,
Kokomo; three, daughters, Mrs.
Clara Kochel, Ft. Wayne, Mrs.
Sadie Benson, St.Louis, Mo., and
Mrs.- Martha Hass, route 6, city; 7,
grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren;
a brother, James Cassman,
Macy; two half-sisters, Katharine
Eden, Phoenix, Ariz., and Miss
Bessie Cassman, North Dakota.
The body was removed to the
McCloskey - Hamilton funeral
home where friends may call. Final
rites are pending.
