Year of birth for Ezekiel Doss varies in census records. In 1850 he gives his age as 58 making his year of birth 1792 and in 1860 he gives his age as 60 which would make his year of birth 1800. The 1792 date is believed to be correct as he served in the War of 1812 with the 7th (Barbee's) Kentucky Regiment, Capt. David McNair's Co. He entered the service on August 23, 1812 and was discharged on March 23, 1813.
