"The first case of infantile paralysis in Greene County this year, is reported in Gilmore Township. William J. Hunnell, aged 9 years, son of Oscar Hunnell, of near Pine Bank, is the victim. His death occurred Tuesday afternoon.
"The boy complained Saturday and Sunday of a pain in his head and sore throat. He was a pupil at the Coen school and he went to school Monday morning as usual, but feeling very ill he returned home at noon. A physician was called and pronounced the case infantile paralysis. His death occurred about twenty-four hours later. Beside the parents, three brothers survive. The Coen school has been closed until all danger of other cases developing is past."
