Private First Class Decker was a member of Company D, 1st Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He died of other causes on December 20, 1950. His remains were not recovered.

Family lived in Jackson Township, Parke County, Indiana, with a birth state of Kentucky. Son of Emory and Phoebe Decker. Spelling variations Hobert and Hubert.

Awarded
Combat Infantryman's Badge, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
