C. W. L McDermott died at his home on North Mulberry Street, this morning at 2 o;clock, of tuberculosis, aged about 38 years: Mr. McDermott who had been business manager of the Mail Publishing Co., was taken with the influenza when It Was prevalent last fall and his illness dated from that, time. He was a member of the Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, St. Mary's Catholic Society and Elks Lodge. Surviving are his wife and daughter, Elizabeth, and several brothers and sisters. He came here from Cumberland which was his birthplace, although he had lived at McKeesport, where he was married. He then returned to Cumberland. Mr McDermott served for some time as Captain of Company K, Maryland State Guard. He always took an active in the company and it was built up largely due to his efforts. For many years, Mr McDermott was in the newspaper game and in his death the Fourth Estate loses a valuable and worthy member.
