Dorothy Abbie (Worthington) Damon, of York, passed away October 12, 2013. She was the wife of the late Elbert M. Damon, Jr., to whom she was married for 56 years. She was 87.
Born in North Adams, MA, she was the daughter of the late Alfred H. and Runette (Holt) Worthington.
Her hobbies were gardening, cooking for the family gatherings and sewing. She was very proud of her Colonial New England heritage and especially of her hometown of Williamstown, MA.
Dorothy is survived by two sons, Elbert M. Damon III and wife Sharon of Manchester, and Craig Damon and wife Patricia of Westfield; three daughters, Gayle and husband Dr. Walter Krajewski of York, Debra Orendorff of York, and Karen and husband William Baughman of Woodhull, NY; sister, Ruby Roberge of Rutland, MA; brother, Gerald Nicklein of Pensacola, FL; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son, Brian Damon; brother, Aaron Worthington; and sister, Barbara Jolin.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at the South View Cemetery, North Adams, MA.
