She was born on Feb. 27, 1924, in Stockholm, a daughter of Joseph and Anna Fayette Phelix. She was a 1942 graduate of St. Joseph's Academy, Brasher Falls. She graduated from the North Country Community College School of Nursing in 1978. She was employed as a custodian in the St. Lawrence Central School District, Brasher Falls, retiring in 1986.

She married Harvey J. LaShomb on May 11, 1946 at St. Patrick's Church, Brasher Falls.

Surviving was her husband; five sons, Keith F., Dale City, VA; John, Lawrenceville; Jerome, Durham, CT; Gordon, Nicholville, and Nelson, Brushton; three daughters, Kathleen, Johnson City, TN; Mrs. LeRoy E. (Lucille) Jock, North Lawrence, and Mrs. Clay (Karen) Elliott, Rock Hill, SC; three sisters, Mrs. Genevieve Thompson, Winthrop; Mrs. Richard (Joyce) Sutton, Syracuse, and Mrs. Michael (Shirley) Keenan, Albany.

Two brothers, Kenneth and Clyde Phelix, and a sister, Mrs. Beulah Lynch, died previously.
