H. Harold Kooser, Topeka, was dead on arrival Sunday, October 5, 1997, at a Topeka hospital. He was an auctioneer for 48 years.
Harold was born in Berwick in Nemaha County, the son of Bert and Blanche Irene Craig Kooser. He moved to Valley Falls in 1936, to Marysville in 1945, and to Topeka in 1956. While in Marysville he was a police officer and worked for Boogaarts Grocery. He also worked for the Kansas Dept. of Transportation and Hudson Oil Co. in Topeka.
He was married to Goldie Cook on February 18, 1950, in Seneca. They owned and operated Kooser Auctionering many years. Goldie survives.
Other survivors include sons, Steve and Dan; brothers, Gerald and Berton; sister, Irene Rasmussen; four grandsons and two step-grandsons.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka. Masonic graveside services followed at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka.
