Mrs. Henry Highland, an old resident of Wheeler, died at her home at that place on Sunday, May 18, of cancer of the stomach, aged 74 years, after an illness of four weeks. Sarah Jane Jones was born near Charlestown, Ohio, Jan. 30, 1828. In her fourth year she moved with her parents to Union county, Ohio, where she resided until 1841, when she came to Porter county, and has resided her ever since. July 12, 1846, she was united in marriage to Henry Highland. To this union were born five children, all girls, one dying in infancy. She united with the Christian church in 1866. After some years being placed where she could not attend that church, and wishing to be in some church, united with the M. E. church at Wheeler. She leaves four children, Angie H. Beck, Michigan City; Rline Felker, Maggie Stemper, Chesterton; Cecelia Arnold, Wheeler.
