Obituary for Anna Catherine Valentine Crable from the Circleville Union Herald of June, 1914:

"Editor Union Herald -- Anna Catherine Crable, daughter of William A. and Maria Lutz Valentine, was born in Washington Township, Pickaway County, Ohio, on September 27, 1883, and departed this life on June 22, 1914, aged 34 years, eight months and 25 days. She was consecrated to God in holy baptism on July 27, 1884, by Rev. J. H. Schneider, of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Circleville, Ohio. Reared in the admonition of the Lord, growing up in the service of the Savior, thru Sunday School and church, instructed in Christ's holy religion, upon profession of faith in the Triune God, she was received into communicant membership of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Circleville, Ohio, by the solemn rite of confirmation on April 3, 1898, by Rev. S. W. Mautz. She remained faithful until her brief earthly pilgrimage was ended and her good Christian spirit was even more manifest during her last illness by her devotion in prayer and song, as during the wakeful hours of both day and night she could very frequently be heard petitioning and praising her Maker. Even after her strength had so waned that she could scarcely be understood by those around her bedside, she gloried in repeating passages from her favorite hymns and prayers. She was a favored child of nature, with a sweet, gentle, loving disposition and had a host of friends. She was married to Walter H. Crable on February 23, 1909, and to this union was born one daughter, Ruth, and one son, Irvin Valentine, aged respectively four years and nineteen months. She leaves to mourn her untimely death, husband, daughter, son, mother, three brothers, Lutz A., Wilson E. and Clifton D. Valentine, all of Washington Township, Pickaway County; three sisters, Mrs. W. H. Leist, Jr., Circleville; Jennie C., at home, and Mrs. Harvey M. Markwood, of Lancaster, Ohio, and numerous relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, and one brother, Samuel C. Valentine, the former dying July 13, 1911, the latter January 15, 1913. It can be said of the deceased that she was a faithful devoted and loving wife; a kind and affectionate mother, was exemplary in her habits, cheerful in disposition; courteous in manner and one worthy of imitation in almost every respect."
