Harry Biancosino, 92, passed away on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013. Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at Broadway Baptist Church. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole. Harry was born July 8, 1921, in Camden, N.J., to Guiseppe and Pasqualina DiBlasio Biancosino. During World War II, he served in the 89th Division in Europe, known as the Rolling W. After the war, he returned to Fort Worth and completed an aeronautical engineering degree while working for Convair, the predecessor to General Dynamics. He won several awards during his time with General Dynamics for his suggestions and inventions and retired in 1986 after working there for over 40 years. Harry was a member of Broadway Baptist Church where he served faithfully for over 60 years as a deacon, usher, RA leader and in the Men's Brotherhood. He loved to serve food to others at Broadway, which he did for many years. He also loved to work with wood and often had projects to resore older furniture to its original luster. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his six sisters, Mae Biancosino, Rose Biancosino, Lily Pisacano, Mary Cimino, Mafalda Biancosino and Adele Nordone, and one brother, Nicholas Biancosino. Survivors: Wife of 69 years, Wanda Moore Biancosino; daughter, Patti Thomas and her husband, Chuck; granddaughter, Jeanni Marie; and many nieces and nephews that were all very special to him.
