Uncle Billy Dykes, 96-year old negro citizen of the Liberty Hill community in Milam county, died at his home in that community Saturday. The burial was held Sunday afternoon and was attended by a number of white friends from Rockdale and other sections of the county. Uncle Billy had lived in this county longer than most local citizens can remember. He was a slave before the Civil War being owned by the Lee Williams family.
