Joseph Farrell "Joe" Culp It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Joseph Farrell "Joe" Culp on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, in Barrington. He was the beloved husband of Cathy Carter-Culp; brother to Mary; loving father to Patti Shenfield (Butch), David, Cheryl Schmitt (Mike), Jim (Ladda), Janelle Grice (David), Margo Lamb (Bruce), Michael, Graham (Carol), Alison Bowen (Guy), and Lauren; as well as grandfather to 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Joe was born Aug. 18,1935, in Stettler, Alberta Canada. He was preceded in death by his parents; and younger brother, Jimmy. Joe will be remembered for his zest for life in all he did. He was a memorable veteran of the furniture industry, both in Canada and the U.S., who left an indelible impression on all who knew him. At home, he was an entertainer and an accomplished cook with a great love for jazz and the company of friends. He was happiest on the golf course when he was with friends and family. Visitation will be held at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake, Monday, Sept. 21, from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Services to follow immediately after. Interment will be in Windridge Memorial Park and Nature Sanctuary in Cary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation, www.melanoma.org, select "memorials" or send to The Melanoma Research Foundation, 170 Township Line Road, Bldg B, Hillsborough NJ 08844-3867.
