Funeral services for Harold Folden, 79, of Newfolden were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran church in that city. Folden died Tuesday at the United hospital in Grand Forks, N.D.
Rev. Hans Floan officiated at the services. Mrs. Vernon Nelson was the organist and Harvey Dyrud, the soloist. Interment was in the Folden cemetery. The Green Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Honorary pallbearers were hugo Nelson, Ben Nelson, Norman Folden, Claring Lund, Martin Saugen and Oscar Rokke.
Serving as active pallbearers were Leslie Folden, Morris Hanson, John Lokstad, Thorvald Lee, Harvey Stokke, and Marshall Myhrer.
Harold Folden was born Sept. 28, 1897, in New Folden township, Marshall county, to Hans and Karen Folden, now deceased. He attended school in New Folden township and farmed the home farm until he moved into the village of Newfolden in 1967. He lived in Newfolden until September of 1976, when he became a resident of the McIntosh Manor.
He is survived by one brother, Einar Folden, McIntosh; two nieces and one nephew. Thief River Times, May 30, 1977
